Catamaran Yemaya anchored under the moon

Being  anchored under the moon at Hillsborough bay.

Hillsborough is the main town on one of our favourite islands; Carriacou. A small Caribbean island with of course some beautiful beaches and the moon seems to be bigger here than in Europe.

You  can read your book with only moonlight. Making this picture was no problem for my camera. The picture is shot at 1/30 and 3200 iso. I hope it captures the beauty of being free to put your anchor almost anywhere you like. No cars, neighbours, electricity bills. Just your own little private island. And the beautiful moon of course :-).

The moon has a strong influence on us. Living in a world with so much light pollution we don’t recognise this influence anymore. While sailing we have to be aware of the tides and these tides are there because of the strong gravitational pull of the moon. You have to be impressed if you experience the enormous power of the moon causing  the strong currents we sail on.  Being close to nature is one of the advantages of sailing. Being close to nature brings you closer to yourself as well. Meditating under the full moon while being anchored under the moon makes a strong experience 🙂

You can read the article on the website of the spirit science to read more about full moon meditations.

If you want to know more about the tides you can read the Keith’s explanation.
